Bookpubco/Edits, not only provides Editing and Coordination services for self publishing authors, it provides a distribution network for self publishers through its BOOKSTORE. Bookpubco/Edits has an online BOOKSTORE that allows self publishing authors to post their books for direct distribution and sales to willing buyers and the proceeds from sales is deposited directly into their royalty account set up by the publisher.
Author's Options and Information
BookPubCo/Edits’ staff provides professional editing and coordination of manuscripts through the publishing process on behalf of authors; until the author is published. Once published, the author’s book is posted on the website, http://www.bookpubco.net for free advertisement and distribution for the first year. After the first year’s contract with BookPubCo/Edits, the author must pay a fee for the published book, to remain on the website.
Authors using these services are offered the opportunity to get their manuscripts coordinated with a publisher and after published, posted on BookPubCo/Edits’ website and advertised free for distribution, with all proceeds going directly to the author’s royalty account establised by the publisher.
Coordination Options
Involve manuscripts coordinated with a publisher, and published by a publisher
with author's concurrence, including the following:
a. Posting manuscript /book with ISBN is free for one year to authors having their books edited and coordinated through http://www.bookpubco.net coordination process that links directly to the publisher’s website setup specifically for authors.
b. Continued posting after one year for a low monthly service fee of $100.00 per year.
c. Posting of any published work on http://www.bookpubco.net is $100.00.
d. On the BOOKSTORE page of BookPubCo/Edits’ website, customers are provided easy access to the author’s book by CLICKING on the book, and then following the Publisher's Link guidelines. Through the author's publisher special link, all proceeds from book sales go directly to the author.
The author's responsibilities for these services are to provide the following to the Coordination Specialist:
- Complete contractual agreement
- Provide book cover
- Book description
- About the author
- Publisher's profile information: ISBN
- Provide completed manuscript
- Provide payment by PayPal credit card or cashers check
The contractual agreement includes the following:
- The amount that qualifies a draft manuscript for modification and rewrite
- Coordination and editing prior to coordination with publisher
- Getting the manuscript coordinated with a publisher and published
- Posting for one year free on http://www.bookpubco.net for marketing at no cost to the author
After manuscript is published and ready for posting:
- Provide book cover
- Book description
- About the author
- Publisher's profile information: ISBN
- Publisher's link
Contractual Options
Professional editing is at the author’s request and includes the following:
- Author’s manuscript is assessed for editorial relevance and receives full editing support in preparing the book for publication.
- Reading, proofreading, spelling checks, word evaluation, and grammar proficiency analysis.
- Manuscript is matched with a publisher.
- Media release development, includes releases to 100 medial outlets.
Ghostwriting Service
In addition to the cost per-page, manuscripts that are not complete and require extensive typing to complete the manuscript for submission to publisher; this is an additional cost and is determined based on an estimate at the time an author request ghostwriting service.
Coordination Process
BookPubCo provides the following coordination services:
- Preparing manuscript to meet the specifications of publisher’s format
- Ensure that the manuscript is transmitted to publisher (may include such items as reprint releases from newspapers, photographers, individuals, clipart, internet, book dealers, cartoonist, etc.); further, ensuring all text and/or images are in the proper format
- Changes/errors are corrected only while the book is in publishing process
- BookPubCo corrects changes/errors noted during the author’s first draft review
- BookPubCo will use the appropriate publisher’s format for correcting changes/errors and resubmission, after a draft review
- Author’s manuscript presentation (which is electronically transmitted) meeting with publisher’s design team and layout coordination team during the conference call to obtain a wrap-up consensus is reached for submission of initial manuscript through the publishing process
- Ensuring the publisher's contract is completed correctly
- Cover Conversion
- Coordinate the establishment of author's website, which includes identification number, ISBN and password for author's book information
- One year distribution
Publisher’s cost is not included in the Editing/Coordination Cost; BookPubCo/Edits is not a publish, but will negotiate an initial relationship with publisher on the author’s behalf and expense.
